How to edit your hosts file to force a redirect

Open my Computer & locate the Windows Drive (It's usyually the C drive)
If you get a these folders are hidden message, click to show folders (you may need to do this again in other folders)
Locate the Windows Folder, open it.
Locate the System32 Folder & open it.
Locate the Drivers Folder & open it.
Locate the etc Folder & open it
You will now see the hosts file.
RIGHT CLICK on the file & choose open.
If it tells you that the hosts file is read only, you can change that by right clicking & choosing properties, un check the Read Only Box.
Choose save then try & open the file again.

Apparently if you are on Vista, you may need do an extra step here, many thanks to Shezz
Right click on hosts & choose properties, then choose security. At the bottom you will see permissions for system, click on Advanced this will take you to the permissons sections look at the coloumn where it says permission if there is one that says read & execute, highlight it then click on edit this should bring up another screen, click on the edit button and tick on full control, close.

You should be given the option to choose the program to do this, choose notepad..
You should now see something like this
Type in 64.5.39.36
Make sure there is a space then type in ebid.net www.ebid.net uk.ebid.net meetup.ebid.net with a gap between each set of words if you are not in the UK, you will need to use your own countries version of uk.ebid.net for example us.ebid.net for the USA. Your file should now look like the one below, obviously without the red underlining.
Now save the file, close all the folders if they are still open,.
You should now be able to get in.
